Due to lack of awareness this profession is not well known in our country. People don’t really know the importance of pharmacists in our society. In an environment of increasing public expectations, workforce pressure and innovative advances, it is essential to define the contribution of pharmacists as they play a major role not only in the healthcare system but have a more vast impact. It would be not wrong to say that the job of a drug specialist and other professionals in the field of pharmacy have been downgraded and displaced off the boundary limits. A wide utilization of the word ‘professionalism’ is misunderstood on the part of a pharmacist’s role.
The main role of the pharmacists is to help people know about their required medication so that they can take their medicine with proper measures. They are available to answer their questions and satisfy them mentally about their health condition. Pharmacists tell them the precautions they have to take according to their disease.
Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol…. pharmacists know about treating these conditions and can be a valuable resource between the physician and the patient visits. They can also figure out what to do when a problem arises.
Many pharmacists offer screening for blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes, and can help you figure out what to do if there is a problem.

Pharmacists have the best knowledge of medicines as they know how to formulate and regulate them. So it is one of the main roles of the pharmacists to educate the people about the rational use of medicines.
